Tracking a vehicle in Job-Dox using Geotab


This article will show you how add or manage your vehicles in Job-Dox so you can track them with Geotab. This article assumes that you have already setup the Geotab account link. If you haven't completed that first step, check out the link at the bottom of this article for related links.


In your Job-Dox partition, get logged in first then click on the App Drawer icon near the top right. If you don't see these icons, you may need to switch to a device with a larger screen, or maybe rotate your screen to landscape mode.

Next, you need to click on the "Manage Equipment" icon.

Inside the Equipment Manager, choose the "Vehicles" button on the left. You may need to add vehicles to Job-Dox at this point, if you want to track it with Geotab. Click the "Add New" button, and give the vehicle a name, and click "Save" at the top.

You will be presented with a new window to provide some details on your vehicle. The only required field will be the "GeoTab GPS ID", which you can get from the Geotab web interface for the vehicle you want to track. Copy/Paste that information from Geotab and click "Save".


You will need to repeat this step for all vehicles you want to track. After waiting for 15 minutes for the next sync to occur, you can open the Dispatch panel, click on "Layers" in the top right corner, and check the box for "Vehicles". They should start showing up there. You can also set colors for the vehicles in this tool, or you can set them inside the Dispatch Panel by clicking on the gear in the top-right corner, and going to "Vehicles" there.
